Attending the event were Pastor Thái Phước Trường, President of the ECVN (South), leaders of central and local authorities, members of the church's Executive Commitee along with about 3,000 delegates who are pastors, commissioned pastors, missionaries and followers of the church.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Vũ Hoài Bắc praised the church's pratical contributions to social welfare. He highlighted the support from many of its ethnic minority dignitaries and followers, even though many of them still face economic difficulties.

He affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam consistently respect and ensure the right to freedom of belief and religion for everyone. They also create conditions for religious organisations to operate stably in accordance with their charters, regulations and the State’s law.

He informed that the committee, relevant agencies and local authorities are working to improve the law on belief and religion in orde to to meet people's legitimate and lawful belief and religious needs. The law will also set out more clearly the responsibilities of officials and public employees in governance and public service.

He expressed his hope that the new Executive Committee would continue to guide their dignitaries, deacons and followers to follow the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. He also called on them to uphold the tradition of patriotism and cultural identity, stay close to the nation, and actively join charitable activities.

The 49^th General Assembly runs from 13 to 17 July 2026 at the Bible and Theological Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, with theme: “Arise, shine”. The congress includes spiritual renewal sessions, discussions and the election of the Executive Committee for the 2026–2030 term.
